Tq News 08-28-08 - Easton Win's Region 4 championships at Lake Park

News - Congratulations to Floridas Newest Super Fast Guy Billy Easton

The 2008 ROAR Region 4 NITRO Off-Road Championships were held at HURRICANE RC Club in Tampa Florida on August 16 - 17, 2008. With a total of 124 entries in 4 classes, Production Monster Truck, Truggy, Buggy and Gas Truck, we had 2 action pact days of racing. It rained most of the week before the race, so Saturday Qualifying started out on wet sticky clay, with no rain all weekend the track grooved up really nice for Sundays Mains. With the rain all week, practice was at a premium. Local Hotshoes include Ryan Eckert, JR Mitch, Jason Ruona and more. Starting with his base setup Billy didn’t change anything all weekend on his car, he swapped pipes around a bit to get the right power band for the track, and it must have paid off! Posting the most consistent laps all weekend and winning the main by over a lap, the SX8 is once again proving its reliability and speed on the track!

We at TQ Racing are please to announce that Serpent driver Billy Easton will run the TQ SX8 at the IFMAR World Championships along with some other up and coming races. Billy will still remain on team Serpent and will move too there 1/8 scale buggy upon its release. We are excited knowing that Billy could have chosen any car on the market; this tells us that we as a company are headed in the right direction.

Race report - Joel Hernandez from round 2 of the RC Series in Paradise, CA

Since the first round did not go so well, I had to make this a good showing, there are a total of 2 throw out races and I’m already using one throw out. It was my goal to come into the race and lay down some fast and consistent times. I got to the track on Friday to do some testing and just to have a little fun. By the end of the day the car was working really well, and the motor was running great. (Read More)

The first Outing with the SX8 for Tony Newland was at the (2nd round of our Rocky Mountain Championship Tour) He logged the fastest single lap by almost a second. TQ'd and won the main. An SX8 took second as well with Craig Ward driving.
